This is a quick and easy recipe that you can serve with rice or roti. There are very few ingredients used and perfect for those quick dinners. You can amp up the spice by adding in more chilli powder if you wish. Besan or gram flour used in the recipe gives a smoky flavour and complements the crunchiness of the peppers.
It is a good practice to use Cumin seeds and asafoetida to avoid bloating sensation to help you enjoy the meal and stay healthy.

Bell Pepper fry

Equipment
- 1 Sauce pan with lid
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 2 tbsp Cumin seeds
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
- 3 cups Cut bell peppers chopped to small pieces
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Chilli powder
- 3 tbsp Besan flour or Gram flour
Instructions
- Heat a sauce pan and add oil to it. Once hot, add in the cumin seeds and asafoetida and wait for it to splutter.
- Add in the cut bell peppers cover with a lid and cook for 10 min or until you can break the peppers with your spatula easily.
- Add in the turmeric and chilli powder and cook for another 5 minutes until the spices are incorporated well.
- Add in the gram flour and stir the entire mixture and cook for 2 minutes. Overcooking the gram flour can cause a burnt flavour.
- Serve with Roti or rice and enjoy!
