Story behind this food blog

I have always been fond of food but it wasn’t until I was living on my own and outside of the comfort of home did I realize how much goes into the preparation. My mother has been a big inspiration for me in life and one of the many things she taught me was cooking with your heart. My mother loved to cook for people and enjoyed learning about different foods and cuisines. She loved coffee, ice cream and anything with potatoes. She taught me that what matters the most in cooking is the emotions with which you cook. If you cook with love in your heart it is going to taste amazing no matter what you put in there.

Coming from an Indian heritage, it was very important to me that I understand and value the different ingredients we have been using for centuries. There is an abundance of research now that shows that Turmeric, cloves, Cinnamon, Asafoetida and many others have properties that can help us avoid a lot of distress. Especially in the Indian sub continent, a lot of the ingredients are used in combinations to elevate your palette and bring out the health benefits.

The purpose of this blog was to honour my mother and embrace what nature provides us.

This blog contains recipes that are vegetarian with plant based options. As a lover of nature and animals, I believe it is our duty to do what we can today so that the our future generations can reap the benefits. My recipes come from various sources and inspirations. In my quest to understand more about food, I have taken inspiration from family traditions, plant based alternatives and sustainable cooking methods.
